What does it cost?
There's no additional cost to participate in the CE Challenge above your regular Informed SLP membership.
Who can join the 2026 CE Challenge?
Any current Informed SLP member with a Pediatric, Adults, or Lifespan membership can participate. If you're not a member yet, you can join at any membership level and then return to opt into the challenge.
What if I'm on a free account?
Free accounts have access to 2 hours of CE on select content, which isn't enough to participate in the full challenge. However, this is a perfect time to upgrade to membership—you'll get unlimited CE access plus entry into the challenge. View membership options
How much CE credit can I earn?
The challenge goal is 10 hours (60 minutes monthly for 10 months), but you can earn as much credit as you want! Members have unlimited CE access. If you complete all 30 hours needed for your ASHA certification cycle, you'll get bonus entries in the December grand prize drawing.
What if I miss a month?
Life happens! That's why the challenge is 10 hours total through November—you have a built-in skip month if you're doing 60+ minutes each month. As long as you reach 10 total hours by November 30th, you've completed the challenge.
How do the prize drawings work?
April drawing: Automatic entry if you've earned 3+ hours by March 31
August drawing: Automatic entry if you've earned 6+ hours by July 31
December grand prize: You get 1 entry for completing 10 hours, or 3 entries if you complete 30 hours
Can I earn more than 60 minutes in a month?
Absolutely! We suggest doing 60 minutes monthly to build a habit, but you can earn as much as you want.
What types of CE content are available?
Our database includes 4000+ research reviews covering the full scope of practice for both pediatric and adult populations. This includes ASHA-required ethics and cultural competency/DEI content. Each review includes a CE question for credit.
How do I track my progress?
Your CE minutes are automatically tracked in your account dashboard. We'll send monthly reminders about your progress and let you know when you've qualified for prize drawings.
Can I listen instead of read?
Yes! You can create audio playlists of research reviews—like building your own podcast. Our audio reviews are narrated for you by real people who are real SLPs, not bots. Choose the format that works best for your learning style and schedule. Just come back and answer the CE comprehension questions before month's end.
What if I already completed my hours for this certification cycle?
You can still participate! Use the challenge to earn some extra hours, stay current with research, and be eligible for our prize drawings.
Do the hours count for ASHA certification?
Yes! The Informed SLP is an ASHA-approved CE Provider. All hours earned through our platform count toward your ASHA certification maintenance requirements. If you're opted-in for ASHA reporting, we'll automatically report your earnings to the CE Registry each month. If you don't use the CE Registry, your hours still count. Just save your certificates (they'll be emailed to you monthly and available in your member profile) for when you renew.
What if I need to cancel my membership during the year?
If you cancel your membership, you'll no longer have access to earn CE through the platform and won't be eligible for remaining prize drawings. However, any CE hours you've already earned remain valid and you'll always have access to your certificates in your member profile.
Can I join if I'm not ASHA-certified?
Yes! We are an ASHA-approved CE Provider, but you don't need to be ASHA-certified to participate. Many SLPs use our platform for professional development and state licensure requirements.
